Things are finally shaping up for Guillermo del Toro's two film adaptation of The Hobbit - we should expect big casting news within the next few weeks. Casting is underway, as the script is nearing what could almost be called completion. Rumors are afloat out there in the interweb sea, and they're swirling around one actor in particular to play Bilbo, whose role was wonderfully played by Ian Holm in Peter Jackson's epic trilogy. Who, might you ask? Well, it seems that Ewan McGregor is Senor del Toro's first choice, and personally, I couldn't be happier. This is just a rumor, though, according to several reputable interweb sources, it's a damn good possibility. So let's keep our fingers crossed, fellow nerdicans! To be a Jedi and a Hobbit, that's just all sorts of awesome. Check back often! We'll be watching this one closely...

(P)Review : Youth In Revolt
I'll go on record as saying I am an unapologetic Michael Cera fan. I'm usually genuinely amused by dry humor, and he's one of the driest working right now. Youth In Revolt looks to be no exception. Though, mixing it up a little bit looks to be on his agenda as well. Damn, I can not wait for Scott Pilgrim...

(P)Review : Antichrist : Lars von Trier
I don't even know what to say about this trailer. I've been following the ups and downs of this film for a while now - it was panned at Cannes, while also garnering a Best Actress award for Charlotte Gainsbourg, oddly enough - but has since started to gain some notable critical headway. I've seen several of von Trier's films at different times in my life, and all of them moved me in one way or another. This one seems even more volatile, more boundary pushing than anything I've seen by him yet.
Antichrist will see limited release on October 23.

(P)Review : Solomon Kane
This movie has the potential to contain all sorts of badassery. IGN has the trailer, embedded below...
Is it me, or does it feel a little like a gothic, period Constantine? That's definitely not a bad thing.
This has a supposed release date of December 18th, 2009.

(P)Review : The Road
Here's the scoop on The Road. Dig it!
Based on Cormac McCarthy's beloved, best-selling and Pulitzer Prize winning novel, Academy Award nominee Viggo Mortensen leads an all-star cast in the big screen adaptation of The Road, the epic post-apocalyptic tale of a journey taken by a father (Viggo Mortensen) and his young son (newcomer Kodi Smit-McPhee) across a barren landscape that was blasted by an unnamed cataclysm that destroyed civilization and most life on earth. Starring Viggo Mortensen, Robert Duvall, Charlize Theron, Guy Pearce, Kodi Smit-McPhee and directed by John Hillcoat.

Inglorious Basterds
A slow burning, savage, and darkly amusing look at WWII told in 5 chapters, through the eyes of strong characters and brutal, explosive violence. Highly Recommended for fans of Quentin Tarantino, WWII films, and pointed story telling.
